Young Readers Club

The Young Readers Club is designed to encourage a love for books and reading, particularly fiction. Held in the comfort of the school, children read together a chapter or two of a book and discuss the plot, character development, and writing style. They continue reading at home and return the following week to engage in further discussions. The club aims to enhance reading skills, literacy appreciation, and instill a lifelong love for books.

Objective:

  • Focus on literary critique as well as engaging, non-academic discussions.
  • Target certain aspects of academics through book reading.
  • Dedicate sessions to particular authors or book series to engage book lovers.

Action Plan:

  • Club members must prepare a brief summary of their reading to share with the group.
  • Encourage students to write book reviews.
  • Maintain a Guidance & Counselling corner or table for book recommendations.
  • Discuss conflicts and complexities of books among members.
